Today is my mom's birthday so I just wanted to take some time to celebrate her and her wonderful special day.  I'd love for her to have as much fun as Ann-Margret is having above.

She picked out her gift so it will not be a surprise anymore, nevertheless, I was looking for some inspiring gift wrapping ideas. I thought the above options were perfect for her, very feminine with a touch of nature, very reminiscent of my mom's aesthetic.

Birthday Twins

Today is my birthday so I was happy to find out that today of all days is also the birthday of Alexander Calder. An artist I found out about through my high school art teacher, Ms. Leier, who was such an inspiration to me. I was interested in doing a hanging sculpture so she suggested I check out Alexander Calder's mobiles. Obviously I fell in love with his pieces right as I saw them. Then I saw some of his pieces at the Centre Pompidou in Paris which was such an experience. He's honestly one of the most original artists of all time. 

Just wanted to show you this amazing piece of jewelry also by Alexander Calder.

So happy birthday to Alexander Calder (and my wonderful grandmother who's birthday is also today) and anyone else who might be celebrating their birthday on this wonderful  day.
