Marni for H&M!

This time, the innovative H&M has collaborated with the amazing fashion house of Marni to create a collection that is coming to the stores on the 8th of March.




This collection is very confusing. You have the Africa inspired prints, then you have 70's inspired cardigans, bathing suit that resembles a 60's beach scene, brocade, sequins, geometric patterns, and then you have a fuscia-yellow top and socks (knee-highs) that you could find at the back of your grandfathers sock drawer. It seems a little all over the place. With the Versace collection, there seemed to be a cohesiveness and a theme that really flowed through the collection. You can see the cohesiveness with the geometric and Africa inspired pieces but then you get to the leather and brocade and that is where the collection stops making sense. Anyone that has watched Project Runway knows that the one main aspect about a collection the (top three finalists) designers worry about is the cohesiveness of their collection. This one sadly makes sense only to a certain point.













The somewhat cohesive pieces. You have the color scheme and the geometric aspect that makes it comprehensible. 
These two are at least in the same color scheme as the other ones so you could pair them up with some of the pieces in the collection. 

I'm not exactly sure where this top fits the picture. It just seems completely out of place. It's as if you were in an Alexandr Rodchenko exhibit with his Pure Color paintings, and then you turn the corner, and boom, you're suddenly looking at a Rococo painting. It just wouldn't make sense.

I love the belt, the collar, the sunglasses and the bag, the rest I'm not so sure about. The shoes are not that bad and the hat is nice too but the leggings and knee highs WOW! I honestly don't see the beauty in those two items.


I love all of these! I'll definitely try to get my hands on the golden-brownish necklace.
